Laser welding applies heat to a very narrow zone, so distortion and discolouration are noticeably reduced. Because the seam is finer, the need for grinding also drops on most jobs.
Stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminium and galvanised sheet. The power must be selected according to material thickness.
Handheld laser welding is learned faster than conventional TIG welding. Even so, training is needed for correct parameter selection and the use of safety equipment.
