Hybrid UV Roll and Board Printer, inside and out
From frame design to hardware options: how the machine works and which jobs and production lines it suits.
A hybrid UV printer series that prints both on roll media and on rigid boards up to 25 mm on the same machine. It works on glass, ceramics, metal, cardboard, leather, wallpaper, flexible film, PVC, PP and PE. It suits businesses that take on banner and film work as well as board work and do not want to give floor space to two separate machines.
It uses a metal encoder strip and a magnetic linear motion system. Standard-size boards can be fed one after another, and roll media is printed to the very end of the roll. Front and rear extension tables are optional. Ink is fed by automatic negative pressure, and 3-litre bottles can be refilled without stopping the print. Vacuum has 4 or 8 zones, and curing is by LED UV lamp.
Because LED UV ink cures under light, it can be used on non-absorbent surfaces. Adhesion on surfaces such as glass and metal can vary by material, so test on your own material. Typical work includes outdoor advertising, board printing, wall decoration, window graphics and display.
Width sets head capacity and speed: 105 m²/h on the 2.2 m model, 145 on the 3.2 m, 220 on the 5.3 m and 235 on the 6.6 m. Head count ranges from 4–24 up to 4–40 on the 6.6 m model. Colours are CMYK + white, with LC, LM and varnish optional. The catalogue lists a 5200 mm print width for the 5.3 m model.

About HB2000UV / HB2200UV / HB2500UV / HB3200UV / HB5300UV / HB6600UV
If you take on both roll and board work, a hybrid handles both on one machine. If your work is mainly rigid material, thick objects or precise positioning on a fixed table, a UV flatbed is the better fit. Material thickness on this series is limited to 25 mm.
The 2.2 and 3.2 m models suit common board and roll work, while the 5.3 and 6.6 m models target wide-format banner and film. The power requirement differs too: 2.2 / 3.2 m models need 220 V, above 45 A, and 5.3 / 6.6 m models need 380 V, above 30 A. Machine size also grows from 4960 × 1500 × 1600 mm to 9500 × 2300 × 1900 mm.
Standard-size boards can be fed one after another. Optional front and rear extension tables make longer or heavier boards easier to handle. The 4 or 8 zone vacuum holds the material in the print area.
Ink is fed by automatic negative pressure, and 3-litre bottles can be refilled without stopping the print. That helps avoid interruptions on long roll jobs. Plan your use of channels such as white and varnish around your job types.
The machine calls for Windows 7/10 64-bit, Intel i5 or better and at least 128 GB SSD. RIP software is PhotoPrint, with Caldera as an option. The operating environment should be 18–26 °C and 40–70% humidity.
